Loutraki was the host city of the «2014 Loutraki ETU Triathlon European Cup & Mediterranean Championship», which took place on 18-19 October, 2014. SPORTCAMP Group was the official operator of this significant event, the biggest triathlon competition organized in Greece after the Olympic Games of 2004. Loutraki, a renowned sports tourism destination in the entrance of the Peloponnese only an hour away from Athens and the El. Venizelos airport, is also the city where the headquarters of SPORTCAMP Group are located.
The games were successful in every aspect, gathering 150 triathlon athletes from 22 countries, amongst which Norway, Great Britain, Austria, France, Israel, Italy, Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, Croatia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Greece.
The event was listed in the official calendar of triathlon events by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) which is the international governing body of triathlon, thus gaining the interest and participation of top notch triathletes from all over Europe.
SPORTCAMP Group assumed the entire organization and management of the event covering both the sporting and the travelling aspects.
As far as it concerns the sports aspect, SPORTCAMP's experienced staff in triathlon planned and organized everything, including indicatively:
- routes designing in sea and land
- technical officials and delegates assignment
- volunteers selection and training
- transition area design and set-up
An exciting highlight of the sporting program was the passing of the bridge over the famous landmark, Corinth Canal, which was included in the route.
SPORTCAMP Group through its exclusive travel agency "Sport Travel Loutraki" also managed the travelling aspects of the event with all-inclusive packages for accommodation, boarding, transfers and all other travelling needs of athletes, coaches and escorts.
