Loutraki became the center of international wrestling by hosting the United World Wrestling (UWW) World Championship of Non-Olympic Wrestling Styles from November 1 to November 9, 2025, at the city’s Indoor Sports Hall "G. Galanopoulos".
The event brought together approximately 800 athletes from more than 40 countries, confirming its strong international profile and high competitive level. At the same time, the Greek national delegation participated with more than 70 athletes, gaining valuable experience and proudly representing Greece on the global stage.
The World Championship of Non-Olympic Styles is one of the most important UWW competitions for wrestling disciplines that are not included in the Olympic program. It provides elite athletes with the opportunity to compete for world titles and showcase their technical excellence, strength, and competitive spirit. The championship featured a highly competitive environment, with more than 1,000 total participants, including athletes, coaches, and officials.
The event was held under the auspices of United World Wrestling and the Hellenic Wrestling Federation, co-organized by the Municipality of Loutraki – Perachora – Agioi Theodoroi, with Sportcamp serving as the operator. The successful organization of the championship significantly strengthened Greece’s international profile in the field of sports and sports tourism.
The successful hosting of the 2025 UWW World Championship of Non-Olympic Wrestling Styles highlighted Greece’s capability to deliver major international sporting events and established Loutraki and Sportcamp as important hubs for the development and promotion of world wrestling.
