
The countdown is over, and Athens welcomes one of the biggest sporting events of the year: the U17 World Wrestling Championships, which will take place from July 28 to August 3 at the Ano Liosia Olympic Indoor Hall. The heart of world wrestling will beat strongly in Greece, with more than 1,000 athletes, coaches, and escorts in attendance – a number that marks a historic participation record for the event!
The U17 World Wrestling Championships is organized by the Hellenic Wrestling Federation under the auspices of the Region of Attica. SPORTCAMP also contributes to this major event, using its long-standing experience in hosting and supporting major international sports events.
The competitions begin today, Monday, at 10:30 a.m., while the spectacular Opening Ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m.
According to the schedule, the curtain rises with Greco-Roman wrestling matches, followed in the coming days by the women’s categories and then freestyle wrestling. Greece is participating with a full delegation, once again proving its investment in the future of the sport and its pursuit of major distinctions.
